Student Working Group

The Religion and Global Politics working group provides an interdisciplinary space for graduate students to share their research projects and to discuss emerging approaches to studying the intersections of religion and politics in global and transnational perspectives.

Bringing together various disciplines, area studies, and themes, the Group aims to develop a new common ground for conceptualizing “religion” and “politics” in relation to one another.

Current members hail from political science, religious studies, history, and anthropology. Popular topics of discussion have included: secularism, international relations, religious freedom, NGOs, law, colonialism, lived religion, and publics.
